What is it?

A bacterial infection where there are no symptoms in ⅔ of the cases. When they do occur: Itching, pain and a burning sensation when peeing – fairly harmless. Left untreated chlamydia can lead to infertility for both men and women. Even worse is if people accidentally rub their eyes with the bacteria, they could go blind.

Who has it?

It is the most common STD in Germany.

What to do?

Take antibiotics to get rid of chlamydia.

What else do I not want to know?

According to a British study, STDs are on the rise among 50- to 90-year-olds in England, the USA and Canada. Chlamydia, along with syphilis, gonorrhea and HIV are now being reported two to three times more frequently than 10 years ago.
